What is an anthem?
According to the dictionary it is a song for praise, devotion, or patriotism. Is this always the answer?
Anthem is an outstanding book written by Ayn Rand. This is a philosophical book that that really gets your mind thinking.
It is set in a world after a time of turmoil. The main character, Equality-72521, is different from his brothers. He is smarter than his peers and has the dream of becoming a scholar. But when he is chosen to live his life as a street sweeper, Equality-72521's dreams are destroyed.
What will he do to fulfill his never ending thirst for knowledge? What is the anthem this book is talking about? Will Equality-72521 ever be able to escape the rigors of his society? Read the book Anthem to find out.

Puerto Rico
During the wonderful winter break, my family and I went to Puerto Rico. It was amazing! We got to see two forts, a rain forest, and we went kayaking. At the forts we learned about how they were used to protect Puerto Rico from invaders. We hiked through the rain forest and saw a waterfall. it even rained while we were at the rain forest. We also went kayaking. We went through a mangrove forest and saw small creatures called dinoflagellates glow. The best part was the beach. The water was great. Puerto Rico is a great place to go.
